The Colour of Christmas
‘Deck the halls with boughs of holly ....’
The origins of this much-loved Christmas carol go back to 16th century Wales when it was a song about welcoming the winter. The English words we all know and sing with such joyous enthusiasm were added in the mid-19th century. Welsh or English, it shows that decorating our homes to celebrate the festive season and welcome visitors is a ritual that goes back hundreds of years and one that we at Woods Furniture are very happy to continue!
Festive Inspiration
We want you to have yourself a merry little Christmas so, whether you love traditional Dickensian trimmings, a festive frosted wonderland or contemporary Christmas chic, here at Woods Furniture and our new lifestyle store in Brewery Square, you’ll find everything you need to ‘deck your hall’ - and every other room - in your own special seasonal style.
Colours of Christmas
Traditional holly-berry red and ivy-leaf green always look gorgeous and are immediately resonant of Christmas. A simple centrepiece of red and green scented candles – think cinnamon, orange, pine and cedarwood - with some shimmering baubles can transform your table. However, contemporary interpretations have become increasingly popular: frosted pink, ice blue, silver and white make a really cool yule; rich purple hues and glimmering gold feel warming and luxurious. Whatever colour your Christmas, Woods Furniture will have accessories, furnishings and decorations to match.
Whether A Dazzling Winter Wonderland or a Cosy Christmas Grotto, Christmas Stock is Coming!
It has been a cracker of a year for Woods Furniture with the launch of our Neptune kitchen shop-in-shop and our new store in Brewery Square. Help us end it with a bang by coming in to see our Christmas shop in December. Every Christmas we transform the whole showroom into a Christmas store. This year we will have a 6-foot-tall angel and a 2.5-metre-high reindeer amongst other festive fun, so make sure to pop in. We hope our Christmas store decorations will get you in the Christmas mood and ready to race home to start putting up your own. It’s lovely to pull out those family favourites: the baubles that have hung on your tree year after year, the drawings of Santa and his sleigh, the shoebox Crib and the paper angel, made by little hands that are now grown up; our decorations are like old friends that visit us each December and are full of memories. Woods Furniture has wonderful stock coming in that is just ready and waiting to join those old friends and help make a whole host of new memories.
So deck your homes with boughs of holly, strings of fairy lights, candles, cushions, throws, baubles, bows, tinsel, garlands, sparkling stars .... fa la la la la la la la la!
